Gamemancipation now!

The SSRE (Swiss Society for Research in Education), the AECSE (Association of Teachers and Researchers in Educational Sciences), and ABC-Educ (Belgian French-speaking Collaborative Association for Educational Research) as well as OBSEF (Education & Training Observatory) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lausanne, joined forces to organise the International Week of Education and Training which took place at the University of Lausanne from 12 to 16 September 2022.

During the SSRE conference our associate professor in architecture department Dr. Marta Brkovic Dodig has been invited and sponsored to present the concept of “gamemancipation” developed together with professor in psychology Dr. Jelena Vranjesevic from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. They analysed the participatory game “Spector – The sustainability inspector” that Dr. Brkovic Dodig developed, and demonstrated the transformative and emancipatory potential of participatory games for children in architecture and urban planning.
