Architecture and urbanism
The study program of Bachelor Academic Studies, with its teaching content and the application of modern methods of education, creates and educates highly professional staff who will apply the acquired knowledge in all areas of creativity in the fields of architecture, urbanism, construction and design. In that sense, the teaching of the first level of education of architects is designed to include teaching in the field of technical-technological sciences, social sciences and humanities, which provides a fundamental basis for further professional and scientific training of students.
The outcome of the learning process is the acquisition of basic qualifications of architects that enable the continuation of studies in master's academic studies of architecture in the country and abroad who have similarly structured study programs and access to the labor market in areas and levels of work in accordance with acquired knowledge and skills. Completion of basic academic studies enables the employment of graduate students in the status of associates in a number of professions in the field of architecture, urbanism and architectural technologies.
Classes are conducted through lectures, exercises, consultations, preparation of seminar papers and practical work of students, according to the curriculum and content of individual subjects. At the lectures, with the use of appropriate didactic tools, the planned material is presented, but on that occasion, students are also shown the research trends in the field. In the exercises that follow the lectures, students deal with the subject area through work on specific project tasks or research topics, thus coming into the most direct contact with the subject matter. Exercises can be auditory, laboratory, computer or computational. Exercises in basic subjects that directly deal with the problems of architectural and urban design have a consultative character and are based on personal contact between lecturers and students.
Depending on the nature of the exercises, the size of the group is determined. If individual contact between teachers and students is necessary for the organization of classes, then the exercises are organized in small groups, with a significant fund of classes. This is especially true for basic subjects, which deal with issues of design, architectural or urban planning, and basic training.
BASIC ACADEMIC STUDIES
The main goal of the study program ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM is, with its interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity, to educate staff with a high degree of expertise to perform complex and creative work in the field of Architecture and Urbanism.
The aim of the study program is to develop a thorough and balanced basis for achieving knowledge, competencies and skills in the field of Architecture and Urbanism. This includes, but is not limited to, developing creative and critical thinking skills, developing a propensity for teamwork, and mastering specific practical skills needed to pursue a profession.
One of the special goals, which is in line with the goals of educating experts at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, is to develop students' awareness of the need for permanent education, development of society as a whole and improving the quality of living space. The goal of the study program is to acquaint students with the challenges and advantages of teamwork, which is extremely important for the field of architecture and urbanism, because professional practice is conceived as a team and multidisciplinary. In addition, through the teaching process, students develop the ability to communicate and coherently present their ideas, design concept, results of research work, thus learning forms of quality communication with professionals and the general public.
In the process of restructuring the Serbian economy, especially sought after, educated, well-profiled staff for the introduction of world and European standards in all areas of business. Implementations of new educational standards and technologies in the teaching process are marked as important goals of this study program, which is in line with the goals and tasks of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where this program is conducted. In order to efficiently achieve the stated goals, within the study program ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM of the basic academic studies of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the following tasks have been set:
- Improving the quality and educational level of teaching staff through the organization of scientific and professional conferences in the field of architecture and urbanism;
- Harmonization of the curricula of basic studies with the essence of the curricula of the world's leading educational institutions and with the EU directives on regulated professions
- Permanent innovation of curricula;
- Finding new ways to incorporate practice into theory;
- Establishing permanent and secure communication links with the latest scientific achievements through international cooperation in the form of professional and scientific contacts between professors and students and cooperation with relevant professional organizations and educational institutions in the country and abroad;
- Education of high-quality professional and scientific staff necessary for the realization of the development strategy.
- Achieving quality equivalent to European and world standards.
